too many photos in my cell phone – i have to clean it out. what better way than to have a clean out your camera week-end. first up, the freeway fotos edition, featuring choppers, chevys, big cars/little wheels, and a scirocco r. enjoy.
So sometimes it happens, we get busy, workin the day away, and then BOOM, it hits us….we haven’t posted yet today! What do we post? We have so much new product coming out, but can’t show it all just yet! We are kickin butt here, preparing for Fall Toy Preview in Dallas right now, so things are kind of crazy. We’re working on our catalog and banging out the rest of 2010/2011 product. So when we’re crunched for time, we rely on our good ol’ standby, “Freeway Fotos”.
But wait, what about all this new product? Like I said, there is stuff going on, that I just can’t talk about yet…so here’s a tease. I know… brutal.
Normally I’m all about the cars, new, old, American muscle,Japanese, and even some exotics you know the usual suspects of awesome. I do love the look and the freedom of motorcycles on the open road. I would love to build a bike one day maybe after the 67 is done, just have to wait and see.
So on the way into CAPD I saw this bike on the 60 and had to snap a few pics of it. I really like the less is more on this bike, and how it’s set up. The rake is just enough not crazy, the bars are totally do able, not like ape hangers over your head. That’s cool for some dudes I’m not a fan but do what you like. The back tire isn’t so wide it looks like it should be on a car, another plus one in my book. No front fender, simple black paint, just enough chrome to pop, you can actually see the cables! It’s a machine and I personally like that you can see that side of it. A real classic look in my opinion, this bike looks great today and will still look great 25 years from now.
Some may find this bike bland and not flashy enough, it’s not hip with the current trends. How many more bikes need realistic flames really???
I took this pic a few weeks ago, we were out getting dinner and I spied this old Chevy Truck sitting in someone’s lot (Reminded me of our “Old Friends” line.) Rusted and beaten down a bit, but I could see her potential. She could shine once again with a little attention, sweat, and lots of love. I can’t believe people let these jewels just rust away.
It got me thinking about my dream car. Sure it would be sweet to be rich like Jay Leno and be able to have garages and warehouses full of cars. I mean, there are so many awesome cars out there, I’m sure I could create a lengthy list of cars I’d love to have. However, my dream car, started when I was a young boy. My grandfather had picked up a 54 Chevy Bel Air, he told me when I was old enough, it would be mine. I don’t remember what color it was when he picked it up, but I do remember him painting it Green on the bottom with the top painted White. She was gorgeous. This is obviously not the car, but this is an example of the color combo.
When I was 14 my grandfather passed away and unfortunately, the car I was promised was sold. So this car has always held a dear spot in my heart. Now that I’ve grown up (some would argue that), I’m on a mission to get one (53-54) when I am able to save up some money for one. That is not the case right now, obviously there are other priorities. When I do get one though, I could see it starting something like this.
And finishing with something like this.
my wife hates freeway fotos. she says they are not safe to do, which is true, and she doesn’t see the point. of course, she does not read the blog, she doesn’t know cars, so what do you want? anyway, i was tracking a cool hot rod the other day, but could not get the shot aligned correctly. i then tried a rearview mirror shot, and got this one
yes sir, that’s a tan leather interior baby – love it?
the other day i played hooky to go to a 12:30 angels – red sox baseball game. on the way, i saw a nice nova i wanted a shot of
not bad, but could i get a better pic of it?
looks about the same as the last one. then i noticed, he was exiting the freeway. damn. so i tracked him, pulled up along side of him, and snapped this just as he was posing for me
and that’s how we do freeway fotos. happy saturday.
a couple of tasty morsels from the sb yesterday for your sunday brunch…
donks live on, but no castro, we still can’t make more…
and it must have been corvette day – #1, a pretty luminescent white one…
and #2, a sleek silver vette
and finally, as the sun was beginning to set, a new contestant to be our next old friends ride
that’s all for now – please remember to like us, you really like us, on our facebook page –
Hey gang, I was driving home the other day and caught this bitchin hot rod coming up in my rear view. I quickly reached for my iPhone in my pocket and selected the camera app. This guy flew by me (since I slowed down to snap a pic). There was a lot of traffic so it was hard for me to catch up to him and get a good pic.
I sped up to catch him, then he dropped back behind me again. This is fun while you’re trying to take a picture, drive, and oh yeah….NOT DIE!
I drove all the way up the hill, almost home, before I got a decent pic. That my friends is dedication. Hope you enjoy.
Don’t forget this Sunday is the Mooneyes Summer X-mas show make up event. I will be attending with my family to check out the awesome rides, vendors, grab some King Taco, and listen to some great music! Hope to see you there.
hope everyone is having a good one. i am ’bout to head out on one of my 3 hour tours, a round trip of freeways of greater souther california to take 1 15 1/2 year old to a sleep over. on my way, i will have phone in hand, looking for the best freeway foto subjects i can find. found a blue one already, but due to technical difficulties, it will have to wait till tuesday to make the blog. hopefully we will find a red car and a white car to go along with it. in the meantime, enjoy this beautiful yellow truck…
We received an e-mail yesterday from Mr. Starkey downstairs, his friend had sent him some pics of a supercharged Dodge Challenger he saw outside his office, no mention of who it belonged to, just a bitchin car he thought he’d share. Upon reviewing the photos, it seems pretty evident who the owner of this beast is. None other than UFC fighter and actor Quinton “Rampage” Jackson.
Now you can see why the title of this blog post included an A-Team quote (I dig the A-Team van colors), it was also because El Señor RHB tried to highjack this post from me, but in the end, we had an octagon brawl and I came out victorious, him not so much. Til next time!
