Rock Crawler Makes It’s TV Debut!
ok, ok, let’s not all get too excited. you know how it is when you are starting off - you have to work some ensemble pieces before you get a shot to hit the big time. so it is with Rock Crawler, our new RC item from Maisto TECH.
we got little play on the fox NY affiliate, as they had a feature on summer toys on their good day ny show. the anchors got a little carried away with some super soaker stuff, and they don’t really get a chance to show the best feature of the rock climber, which is it’s ability to, um, climb rocks (we spent a TON in research to come up with the name, btw), but like we say, you gotta start somewhere.

ROCK CRAWLER FROM MAISTO TECH PREPARE FOR HOLIDAY ASCENT
Fontana, CA. (July, 2010)
Maisto International, a worldwide leader in vehicle replicas in the toy and hobby industries, announced the initial shipments of ROCK CRAWLER, the latest title from their Maisto Tech line of radio controlled toys.
Rock Crawler features a sleek off-road body sitting on top of a massive chassis with enormous, rugged deep tread off road tires. Articulated front and rear axles keep the tires in contact with all sorts of rough terrain, even while climbing seemingly impossible ascents. The coil springs at each wheel assist in the shock absorption. The vehicle is powered by three different motors and also features tri-channel support, so three vehicles can be operated in the same area at the same time.
“This title is going to be a major breakthrough for us in the Radio Control category,” said Rick Berman, Director of International Licensing/Marketing/Design for Maisto International. “Our plan was to take a hobby-grade play pattern and make it for the masses. We were excited to see the prototype. We were thrilled with the functionality in the pre-production stage. And the final outcome is absolutely awesome and even better than we had hoped for. Retailers, who have already given us significant support for Rock Crawler, will be thrilled with the shipped product.”
Berman continued, “In addition to an outstanding product, we are looking forward to delivering our current fan-base as well as new customers the opportunity to enter-and-win several exciting prize packages from Maisto and other promotional partners during this holiday season via an on-line promotion. We will have a lot of information on this contest shortly, and will be posting it on our website as well as on Facebook and Twitter. Rock Crawler will also be promoted in the annual TOY INSIDER™ holiday gift guide that will appear in the November issue of Woman’s Day magazine delivering over 10 million consumer impressions during the holiday season.”

Maisto TECH – The NEW Name In Radio Control
maisto will now be branding our car radio-control products under the brand name Maisto TECH beginning in january. All of our former products, with the exception of Street Troopers, were previously under the name custom shop. we decided to change everything, including the packaging, for the new year – and so far the response has been great.

we’ve heard of some big success stories in 08 with the Street Troopers brand, and we will have a new addition, menace hauler, coming in 2009. there is also a new cycle – but you will hear more on that later in the year. the major emphasis will be in our standard vehicles, and bringing out some new 1:14 and 1:16 titles in off-road. not just any titles, but exclusives like the hummer hx and h3t (rumored? to be in TF2 this summer), as well as the jeep wrangler rubicon and the ford raptor svt. all in all, a pretty strong line-up. you will be seeing it in the magazines, but here is a first look at one of the ads we are running.

next.
