Lamborghini Sesto Elemento
some posts just write themselves, others, you just need a visual…
sesto elemento = 6th element. the 6th element: carbon. as in carbon fiber. and it sounds so cool… sesto elemento. like a techno band from the 80s.
just a concept for now. but that is 1 bad ass car. and here is the press release from our friends in Sant’Agata…
Rock Crawler Contest
and so it begins. the greatest contest in the history of mankind. a contest so enormous in proportion it will make the world cup, the super bowl, the world series, the olympics (summer, not winter), and the pba world championship, if all rolled up into 1, look microscopic in comparison. maisto announces the first ever rock crawler contest.
it is a contest so simple, even i could win it. except i can’t, cuz i am an employee of the company, and the government frowns on that kind of stuff. besides, i can crawl rocks all on my own…
of course i think Rock Crawler would have beat my sorry a** up that mountain, and with less recharging breaks. and guess what, we don’t want to just give you as rock crawler, we are throwing in a AUDIOBAHN car audio system, and a years supply of ROCKY ROAD candy bars! Whoa – now I got your attention, didnt i?

Brooklyn Projects/Jae Bueno’s Quiet Storm Event
Got a chance to hit up Brooklyn Projects and Jae Bueno’s event on Saturday evening. There were a lot of people in attendance to check out Jae’s work, have some drinks, listen to some great music, and peep some fine lookin’ lowriders out front! The wife and I made the trek all the way from Victorville to Pasadena because Jae and Steph are friends of ours and well, we love his work.

There were a couple of limited edition shirts with Jae’s photos on them for sale, if you’d like more info about the show, or picking up the tees, check out JaeBueno.Com.
On The Road in Hong Kong
i promise this is the last of the pics i have from my trip to hong kong. and it is of an item we are not even making.
yes, we are producing a 1:10 R/C Audi R8, and it looks sweeeeet. but then walking around the cubies in hong kong, i spotted this version. apparently they had someone try this out to see what it would look like – the look is unreal, but so is the cost, unfortunately. so no go, but a few fotos for your viewing pleasure.
Quiet Storm: A Photo Exhibition by Jae Bueno
A friend of ours, photographer and die-cast collector, Jae Bueno is having a solo photo exhibition at Brooklyn Projects in Pasadena tonight. If you’re in the area, stop by and show your support. I’ll be in attendance for sure.

GT1 Commemorative Edition Corvette
New GT1 Vette came in to CAPD today, had to roll outside to capped some pics. Here is some background to these commemorative edition cars.
Chevrolet used the 12 Hours of Sebring race to show off the new Corvette GT1Championship Edition. This makes sense considering this limited edition is commemorating the Corvette C6.R’s victories in the GT1 class of Le Mans series racing.
The point of the GT1 package is to make the street Vetts look like the race-only cars. Some details of the package include C6.R-inspired graphics featuring Corvette Racing “Jake” mascot and driver flags, ZR1-style body, full width spoiler, chrome wheels, and special engine cover with carbon pattern and yellow Corvette lettering. The colors available are yellow with black trim or black with yellow trim.
